Once the new Smart motorways were introduced onto the network, it was soon realised that the number of safety refuges was insufficient. A number of new refuges have now been constructed on the M25 with a requirement for grass seeding.

As the access behind crash barriers, combined with the amount of road ‘furniture’ and slopes, meant the use of tractors was impractical, CDTS Ltd used hydroseeding as a means of seeding these awkward areas.
