Once the new Smart motorways were introduced onto the network, it was soon realised that the number of safety refuges was insufficient. A number of new refuges have now been constructed on the M25 with a requirement for grass seeding. As the access behind crash barriers, combined with the amount of road ‘furniture’ and slopes, [...]
Milton Keynes Council had been suffering from a number of illegal caravan sites being set up on the green corridors throughout the town and have constructed bunds of varying sizes to prevent access onto the land. As these were constructed using subsoils as opposed to topsoil, the amount of larger debris precluded the use of [...]
Ouse Washes is a linear 2,513.6 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest between the the Old and New Bedford Rivers stretching from near St Ives in Cambridgeshire to Downham Market in Norfolk. The area between the rivers is 20 miles (32 km) long and almost a mile wide and acts as a floodplain during [...]
Many housing developments are very limited with the space they occupy and require a number of small intricate areas to be seeded. Hydroseeding allows many of these small areas to be seeded within a day, meaning programs can be kept on schedule despite any wet weather, as on this site done by CDTS Ltd.
This project upgraded 21 miles of the A14 and includes the new 12 mile bypass around Huntingdon. As Britain’s biggest road upgrade CDTS Ltd were employed by Lowther Forestry to undertake the seeding of grass and wildflowers across the entire scheme, amounting to over 100 hectares. This involved the use of several specialist bank tractors [...]
Many construction projects are very limited with the space they occupy and engineered walls such as this one in Beckton require the establishment of vegetation, both to ‘green’ them up and also provide some additional protection. Hydroseeding is the preferred option and whilst the green colour gives only a temporary appearance, the wall will become [...]
An increasing number of road construction projects now demand the inclusion of wildflowers in the seed mixtures used and this short Link Road to the north of Bury St Edmunds is no exception. Very sandy soils required the use of a mixture specific to those types of soils – several hectares were sown by CDTS [...]
Many construction projects are very limited with the space they occupy and require steep slopes and bunds that require a vegetation cover. This new development of around 20 new chalets at Center Parcs required a grass cover and CDTS Ltd were contracted to hydroseed all areas around them.
CDTS have worked on many rail schemes in the past this particular contract was for Story Rail on the west coast line near Shap. Prior to CDTS undertaking the hydroseeding Geojute was laid over the soil base and we subsequently hydroseed. This picture was taken 4 weeks after hydroseeding in spring 2021.
Due to the new housing boom CDTS have been hydroseeding a lot of SUDS ponds for various house builders and Landscape Contractors. This particular scheme we did for Shines landscapes at their Roman Heights development in Cannock. This picture was taken four weeks after hydroseeding in September 2021. CDTS use Groweb hydroseeding material which are [...]
